Leads data platform strategy and execution, builds scalable multi-tenant infrastructure, and partners with AI/engineering teams to transform raw data into actionable insights for sports clients.
Description
Jump is transforming the live sports experience with the only end-to-end fan engagement platform built specifically for sports teams and venues. By focusing on aligned incentives between teams and fans, our platform unifies ticketing, merchandise, and game day operations - creating a smoother, more fan-friendly experience.
Founded in 2021 by e-commerce innovator Marc Lore, MLB legend Alex Rodriguez, and entrepreneur Jordy Leiser, weâve raised $60 million from top investors including Alexis Ohanianâs Seven Seven Six and Forerunner Ventures. Our platform powers teams across the NBA, WNBA, and NWSL helping them boost ticket sales and deliver innovative fan experiences.
Weâre a remote-first team driven by core values - begin and build with trust, play like the underdog, win as a team, and do your thing. If youâre collaborative, adaptable, and eager to shape the future of live sports, Jump is the place for you.
The Role
Jumpâs data platform is at an inflection point. What started as an internal capability now powers the analytics and insights our clients rely on every day. Weâre turning it into a full product: scalable, multi-tenant data infrastructure, an expanding library of integrations pulling from a growing set of first- and third-party data sources, and an AI intelligence layer that transforms raw data into actionable decisions.
As Data Platform Lead, youâll own the vision and execution of that platform. Youâll lead and grow our data engineering team, partner closely with our AI engineer to shape how agents and LLMs consume and act on our data, and work across Product, Engineering, and go-to-market teams to build something that scales â not a series of one-off implementations. The platform you build here will become core infrastructure for how our clients run their business.
What Youâll Do
Own the data platform strategy end-to-end â from ingestion architecture and scalable, multi-tenant data infrastructure to transformation pipelines, a modern BI layer, and how the platform grows as we add clients and data sources.
Drive the AI-on-data layer. Partner with our AI engineer to define how agents and LLMs access, query, and act on platform data â semantic models, retrieval patterns, and in-warehouse AI primitives.
Build and productize our integrations motion â ingesting data from a growing set of first- and third-party sources. Turn what today requires custom work into a repeatable, operable pattern.
Lead and develop our data engineering team. Youâll manage directly, set technical direction, and raise the bar on quality â starting with a tight-knit team with room to grow.
Define the engineering standards for the data org â CI/CD, testing, infra-as-code, data lineage, governance, and observability â so the platform scales without fragility.
Be a strong hands-on presence on the warehouse and transformation layer â fluent enough in Snowflake to contribute meaningfully alongside the team, not just oversee it.
Partner with go-to-market teams to define what great looks like for client onboarding and data delivery, and drive engineering execution against that bar.
What Weâre Looking For
8+ years in data engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership role â you have a proven track record of managing and developing engineers
Strong people management instincts: clear communicator, good at developing talent, comfortable giving direct feedback, and able to build a high-performance culture even with a small team.
Hands-on experience with a modern cloud data warehouse and transformation stack â Snowflake + dbt strongly preferred; Redshift, Databricks, or BigQuery with a fast ramp is acceptable.
Proven experience building AI on top of structured data â semantic layers, agent/LLM access patterns to warehouses, or retrieval-augmented generation.
Deep expertise in data ingestion at scale â youâve built or owned the systems that pull from many disparate sources into a warehouse. You know when to use an off-the-shelf connector, when to build, and how to make either one operable at scale.
Experience building and shipping a productized, multi-tenant data offering â client isolation, onboarding flows, SLAs, and ongoing support. You think in products, not projects.
Solid engineering fundamentals: version control, code review, CI/CD, infra-as-code â and a bias toward standards that teams can repeat, not heroics that only you can maintain.
Nice to Haves
Direct Snowflake + dbt experience, and familiarity with advanced in-warehouse AI capabilities and agent-accessible data patterns.
ML or MLOps experience â feature stores, training pipelines, model evaluation â and a track record of building tools that extract measurable value from data.
AWS fluency â we run on AWS, and comfort with IAM, S3, Lambda, and Glue is a plus.
Experience with modern BI tooling and self-serve analytics delivery.
Background in sports, live events, or time-series data; experience with EU data residency, GDPR, or multi-region warehouse patterns.
Attributes that will make you successful on our team
A strong desire to learn. You continually look for ways to build your skills.
Tenacity. You enjoy working on challenges that others canât or donât want to tackle and you arenât afraid of failing fast in order to find better solutions.
Passion. You love using your technical skills to build products that solve real problems. You hold yourself to a high standard and help to elevate others as well.
Empathy. You thrive in an environment where everyone can truly be themselves. You understand that our differing life experiences influence who we are and how we show up, and these diverse perspectives enrich both our team and our product.
Customer-centric mindset. You can understand the problem to be solved and who we are solving it for.
Innovation: Passion for exploring and implementing AI technologies to enhance automation, optimize workflows, and drive innovation
Benefits

Competitive salary and equity
Flex PTO policy
401(k)
Generous medical, dental and vision plans
16 weeks paid parental leave for primary and secondary caregivers
$1,000 reimbursement for work-from-home tech setup

Compensation
Compensation is something we donât want our candidates or employees to worry about. Our goal is to offer competitive salaries that are regularly benchmarked against the market. The core tenets of our compensation philosophy are fairness and transparency.
We have established a standardized leveling framework based on job scope and responsibilities. The compensation package for each level is standard across all engineering roles. This means that every person at a certain level is paid the same as everyone else, regardless of their background, previous compensation, location, or any other factor.
The compensation for this role is $210,000 and includes a generous equity package.
Application
Some candidates may see the requirements and feel unsure that they match all the criteria. We encourage you to apply! Thereâs a good chance you have important skills that we have not stated. We especially encourage members of traditionally underrepresented communities to apply, including women, nonbinary folx, people of color, members of the LGBTQ community, veterans, and people with disabilities. Weâre committed to building an inclusive workplace where everyone can bring their authentic self and thrive, and we value the diversity brought by different life experiences.

Benefits

Flex PTO policy
401(k)

Director leads business intelligence strategy, defines KPIs and metrics, owns revenue operations analytics foundation, and modernizes data stack across the organization.
When you join Turnitin, youâll be welcomed into a company that is a recognized innovator in global education. Turnitin is a global organization with team members in over 35 countries including the United States, Mexico, United Kingdom, Australia, Japan, India, and the Philippines.
We are seeking a Director, Business Intelligence & Analytics (BIA) to report to the Vice President of Revenue Operations. This is a builderâs role for a leader who thinks in systems, treats analytics like a product, and is excited to operate at the frontier of AI-augmented decision-making. A leader who can define what we measure, why it matters, and how every number ties back to a clean, trusted source. Before anything else, this person establishes the foundation the rest of the business runs on: a rigorous set of KPIs, unambiguous metric definitions, sound data models, and a single version of the truth that executives and sellers alike can rely on. Get that right, and everything else compounds. Get it wrong, and no tool or technique can save it.
You will own the operational backbone of Revenue Operations analytics â the metrics, the definitions, the governance, and the reporting that leadership uses to run the business. You will gather requirements across teams, reconcile conflicting numbers, close data gaps, and turn fuzzy questions into precise, durable measures. This is the work that makes everything else possible.
With that foundation in place, you will modernize how we deliver it. We are migrating from a legacy Redshift/Alteryx/Tableau stack to a modern, code-driven ecosystem built on Redshift, dbt, Dagster, and Airbyte, paired with a next-generation, version-controlled BI layer. The goal is to treat analytics like a well-engineered software product â tested, documented, version-controlled, and built to scale as fast as the business does.
This modernization unlocks the next chapter: an AI-augmented function where a strong operational core is amplified by emerging tooling. We believe the analytics team of the next few years will increasingly work from an AI coding cockpit â agentic developer tools like Claude Code and Codex alongside GitHub â to build, review, and ship pipelines, models, and dashboards. On top of well-defined metrics, that opens the door to conversational analytics, AI-generated narratives, and agents that surface and act on insight. The key word is on top of â AI multiplies a solid foundation; it does not substitute for one. The ideal candidate has already moved past the chat window and uses agentic coding assistants to do real engineering work, but reaches for them in service of operational rigor, not in place of it.
As the subject matter expert for Business Intelligence and Analytics, you will partner closely with field and operational teams, instituting leading practices that pair analytics-engineering discipline (Git, CI/CD, testing, semantic layers) with self-service access. You will lead a team of Business Intelligence & Analytics Analysts, Analytics/Data Engineers, and Data Quality Specialists.
Above all, this is a full-stack, player-coach role â not a hands-off manager. Youâll lead a team, but youâll also be in the work: your morning might be deep in data engineering, pairing with Claude Code to refactor a dbt model or debug a Dagster pipeline, and your afternoon might be building and delivering a polished, board-ready presentation that translates that same data into a clear story for the C-suite. Weâre looking for someone who is equally credible in a terminal and in the boardroom, and who is genuinely energized by the full range â from the plumbing to the podium.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Excellence & Metric Definition (the foundation)
Strategic Leadership
Modern Data Platform & BI-as-Code (how we deliver the foundation)
AI & Agentic Analytics (the amplifier, built on the foundation)
Collaboration and Communication

Director owns talent acquisition strategy, recruiting pipeline, and people operations systems for a growing remote-first organization.
At Hadley Designs, we believe that learning should be enjoyable, engaging, and screen-free. Millions of parents and teachers trust our beautifully designed, developmentally aligned educational tools to help children grow and thrive. As a fast-growing, family-founded brand, we are on a mission to make learning meaningful for families around the world.
We are seeking a Director of People Operations to join our team and build the systems that will drive our next phase of growth. If you are passionate about creating scalable people systems, empowering teams, and cultivating a culture that supports both personal and professional growth, this role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact.
Hadley Designs is redefining early education with creativity and purpose. Every product we create is hand-drawn and teacher-designed, crafted with care to build confidence and connection. Our screen-free tools help families and teachers make learning fun and meaningful, nurturing curiosity and creativity in children.
Our Mission:
We design screen-free products that parents can trust to help their children learn, grow, and reach their full potential. We create beautifully designed, developmentally sound tools that replace noise and distraction with connection, curiosity, and real learning.
Our Vision:
We aim to build the most trusted childrenâs brand in the world, present in millions of homes, reshaping how families learn, connect, and grow. Our products will be so widely used and passed down that generations of children will grow up learning from them and choose them again for their own families.
As the Director of Talent Acquisition & People Operations, you will own how Hadley Designs sources, vets, and closes top global talent, and you will own the broader people system that talent steps into. You will partner with leadership to design the recruiting engine that consistently delivers strong top-of-funnel for every open role, and you will scale the people systems that hold a remote, contractor-centric organization together as it grows toward $100M and beyond.
This is a leadership-tier role with 1 direct report (the People Operations Specialist) and end-to-end ownership of the talent and people functions. Your weeks will be heavier on recruiting in the near term, live pipelines, structured interviews, test projects, employer brand, and steady on People Operations throughout (onboarding, performance frameworks, contractor renewal, leadership enablement).
Talent Acquisition (the #1 outcome of this role):
⢠Recruiting Pipeline Management: Source candidates across LinkedIn, job boards, freelancer platforms, and referrals; filter applicants for red flags, competency match, and scorecard alignment.
⢠Test Project & Interview Operations: Run test projects, review submissions, conduct first-round group interviews, and manage candidate experience end-to-end.
⢠Sourcing Channel Optimization: Manage and optimize sourcing channels based on performance; build âalways hiringâ shortlists for recurring high-leverage roles.
⢠Employer Brand & Glassdoor Defense: Monitor and manage Glassdoor reviews, organize team review drives, ask for feedback, flag issues, protect brand rating.
⢠Hiring Metrics & Funnel Reporting: Deliver weekly hiring pipeline reports broken down by channel and role; track funnel performance against KPIs.
People Operations:
⢠People Systems Leadership: Design and implement systems for engaging, onboarding, and retaining talent, align
ed with the companyâs growth objectives.
⢠Organizational Design and Capacity Planning: Collaborate with leadership to ensure that the organizational structure and workforce planning meet the evolving needs of the business.
⢠Performance and Development Frameworks: Establish performance expectations, evaluation frameworks, and development pathways that drive accountability and growth across the organization.
⢠Talent Experience and Retention: Build a consistent and professional experience for talent that reinforces employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention.
⢠Workforce Insights and Reporting: Provide insights and data-driven recommendations to leadership to guide decision-making and improve workforce effectiveness.
⢠External Partnerships: Partner with external service providers to enhance and support people operations as necessary.
Talent Acquisition KPIs:
⢠Average time to fill open roles: under 45 days.
⢠Weekly applicant volume per active role: 250+ qualified applicants.
⢠Weekly hiring pipeline report by sourcing channel: 100% completion, on time.
⢠Completed candidate case studies available for review per role per week: 15+.
⢠Glassdoor company rating: maintain 4.5+ average across the year.
People Operations KPIs:
⢠Successful implementation of people systems that directly support the businessâs ability to scale.
⢠Strong employee retention rates, with high performance and engagement.
⢠Improved leadership confidence in people systems, talent readiness, and organizational alignment.
⢠Predictable, scalable people operations that contribute to the companyâs growth and success.
You are a recruiting-strong, systems-oriented leader. You have personally closed difficult hires, not just managed a team that did. You move fast in a sourcing pipeline, you can run a structured interview that lands the right read on a candidate in 30 minutes, and you are equally comfortable defending the company on Glassdoor as you are building a 90-day onboarding plan. You thrive in a fast-paced, remote-first, contractor-centric environment and have a track record of both filling open roles ahead of timeline and scaling the people systems that retain the talent you bring in.
⢠3-5+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, ideally in remote or e-commerce organizations.
⢠Proven track record of hiring across marketing, ops, Amazon, product, and leadership roles.
⢠Experience running structured interviews, test projects, and group interviews.
⢠Familiarity with recruiting tech stacks: LinkedIn Recruiter, Workable, OnlineJobs.ph.
⢠Comfortable managing hiring systems using Notion, ClickUp, or lightweight ATS tools.
⢠Strong writing ability: clear job posts, compelling outreach, direct candidate comms.
⢠Ability to handle 5-10 active roles at a time with no drop-off in process.
⢠Experience defending brand reputation and responding to feedback (e.g. Glassdoor).
⢠Experience building and running reporting for hiring metrics.
⢠5+ years of progressive HR or people operations experience, with leadership responsibility.
⢠Bachelorâs degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
⢠Direct experience operating contractor-centric or distributed teams.
⢠Demonstrated success building compliant, scalable people systems.
⢠Strong understanding of contractor classification, employment law, and risk mitigation.
Impact: Your work will directly impact how families experience learning through the Hadley Designs brand.
Culture: Join a passionate, mission-driven team that values trust, creativity, and collaboration.
Flexibility: Enjoy the freedom of a remote role with flexible working hours.
Benefits:
If youâre ready to make a meaningful impact in a growing company thatâs shaping the future of learning, apply now to join the Hadley Designs team as our Director of People Operations. Help us create a lasting impact on families, educators, and children worldwide.
P.S: If you donât hear from us within four weeks of your application, please consider that as our decision to move forward with other candidates, but we truly appreciate your interest in Hadley Designs.

#LI-Remote
Director leads consumer fundraising strategy, paid media campaigns, and recurring donor growth initiatives across acquisition, retention, and lifecycle management.
Main Areas of Focus: Subscription/recurring giving growth ¡ Donor acquisition, retention & lifecycle ¡ Paid media leadership
Location: Remote, Nashville, TN preferred ¡ Monthly travel to Nashville required
Eligibility: charity: water hires from all 50 states. At this time, we are only considering candidates eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
HIGHLIGHT
As Director of Consumer, you will own charity: waterâs most important revenue mandate: growing the Spring, our recurring giving community and the financial engine that sustains the mission. Youâll lead a team responsible for every stage of the consumer donor journey, from first gift to long-term commitment, building the systems, programs, and channels that bring new donors in and deepen their connection over time. Reporting directly to the VP of Global Marketing & Partnerships, you will own a full-funnel fundraising strategy spanning paid acquisition, lifecycle retention, and campaign management; directing agency and contractor partners on paid media while managing two direct reports. This is a role for someone who thinks in lifetime value, builds in systems, leads with data, and is energized by the idea that more Spring donors means more clean water for communities in need.
JOB SUMMARY
The Director of Consumer will own charity: waterâs $25M+ consumer revenue target. Your north star is Spring: the number of recurring donors enrolled, how much they give, how long they stay, and how many move deeper into their giving over time.
You set the strategy, hold the brief, and own the outcomes: campaigns drive 1x giving, lifecycle keeps donors and moves them deeper and paid media finds the next audience. Your job is to architect that engine and hold all of it accountable to Spring growth.
Paid media is central to this role. You are fluent in performance marketing â strategy, channel mix, audience targeting, creative testing, budget management and experienced directing agency partners to execute against your vision. Long-term, youâre building toward an AI-optimized model that reduces cost and agency dependence. You understand where that trajectory leads and are actively steering toward it.
YOUâLL BE RESPONSIBLE FORâŚ
Spring Revenue & Donor Growth
Owning charity: waterâs Spring recurring revenue target â acquisition, retention, upgrade, and LTV â as the primary measure of team success
Building and managing the full-funnel consumer donor journey from first gift through multi-year commitment. Actively looking at how to accelerate a donorâs depth of giving and move consumer donors into Mid & Major portfolios
Designing and optimizing the 1x-to-Spring conversion pathway, evaluating one-time giving programs primarily through a recurring conversion lens
Partnering with the VP and Revenue Resources team to define âmajor donor readyâ signals and build the handoff infrastructure that captures them
Paid Media & Agency Leadership
Owning paid acquisition strategy across all channels (paid social, paid search, TV/CTV, display, direct mail); setting the brief, directing agency and contractor partners, and holding them accountable to performance
Managing a multi-channel paid media budget with rigor â forecasting, tracking, and reporting on CAC, CPA, ROAS, and revenue attribution
Building toward an AI-optimized media operating model that replaces long-term agency dependence, staying current on how AI is reshaping paid acquisition and accelerating its integration it into how the team operates
Team Leadership & Channel Management
Managing and developing two direct reports: Campaign Senior Manager and Lifecycle Senior Associate, with clear performance expectations and regular developmental feedback
Building the feedback loops between paid media, lifecycle, and campaign functions that compound learning across every activation
Owning channel performance metrics: CPA, ROAS, retention rate, upgrade rate, Spring conversion from 1x, and LTV
Leading the Consumer teamâs experimentation and testing infrastructure; frameworks that generate learning across creative, audience, and channel, not one-off tests
Systems & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partnering with Growth Product to improve Spring conversion rates, ARPU, and retention through landing page and onboarding experimentation
Partnering with Data & Analytics to establish Spring donor performance reporting as a single source of truth across acquisition, retention, upgrade, and LTV
Collaborating with Corporate Partnerships on shared audience strategy; partnership-driven awareness feeds paid retargeting poolsWorking with Revenue Resources on the upgrade pathways that move Spring donors toward major giving
Integrating AI tools into Consumer team workflows; creative optimization, audience targeting, performance monitoring
YOU MUST HAVEâŚ
8-10 years in consumer marketing or fundraising with direct ownership of revenue targets, including significant time in a growth or performance marketing capacity
Hands-on paid media experience, you have personally directed paid acquisition strategy across digital channels (Meta, Google, paid social) and understand media planning, audience targeting, creative testing, and budget management at a meaningful scale. Agency direction experience required.
A commitment to integration & collaboration. Youâre more eager to see the organizationâs revenue grow then just Consumer. You work well with Product, Engineering, and Design teams to deliver exceptional experiences and strong experimental designs.
Extensive experience with subscription or monthly giving programs. You have owned a recurring revenue product (subscription, membership, or monthly donor program) and have demonstrated results in acquisition, retention, and upgrade.
Full-funnel fluency: youâve managed or closely directed paid acquisition, lifecycle communications, and campaign programs as an integrated system, not separate functions
Experience managing direct reports and agency or contractor relationships. Youâve developed people and held external partners accountable to performance
Strong analytical instincts. You are comfortable with CAC, LTV, retention cohort analysis, and the metrics that distinguish a healthy recurring revenue program from one quietly eroding
Clear POV on how AI is changing paid media and marketing operations and a track record of leaning into new tools before they become standard
ITâS AN ADDED PLUS IF YOU HAVEâŚ
Experience in nonprofit fundraising or with mission-driven consumer audiences
Familiarity with direct mail as a channel; audience segmentation, cadence strategy, creative testing
Experience building or scaling a recurring giving or membership program from the ground up
YOUâLL BE SUCCESSFUL IFâŚ
You are Spring-obsessed. You think about donor lifetime value, recurring enrollment, and retention rate the way a SaaS operator thinks about MRR and churn. You know that a donor who stays is worth more than three who leave. The mission is the reason the number matters and you hold both.
You think in systems, not tactics. You donât just run campaigns, you build the infrastructure that makes every campaign smarter than the last. Testing frameworks, performance feedback loops, cross-channel learning; these are how you create leverage from a lean team.
You lead people with clarity. Your team and agency partners know what they own, what success looks like, and how their work connects to the larger goal. You develop talent, resolve ambiguity early, and create an environment that attracts strong performers.
You are AI-forward, not AI-curious. Youâve already started building AI into how you work; creative testing, audience analysis, performance monitoring. You understand where media buying is going and are building toward it, not managing around it.
You take initiative.
You see something that needs improvement and you take action. You propose solutions to problems and research subjects that will help you do your job better. Youâre proactive about making sure various departments have the information they need about your projects.
You have a team ethos.
You thrive in a creative, inventive, fast-paced start-up environment, with people who are passionate about their work and mission. Youâre excited to work cross-functionally with other departments.

Manages and develops a 5-10 person ML engineering team building AI systems for digital forensics, handling hiring, coaching, career development, and cross-functional collaboration.
Who We Are; What We Do; Where Weâre Going
Magnet Forensics is a global leader in the development of digital investigative software that acquires, analyzes, and shares evidence from computers, smartphones, tablets, and IoT-related devices. We are continually innovating so our customers can deploy advanced and effective tools to protect their companies, communities, and countries.
Serving thousands of customers globally, our solutions are playing a crucial role in modernizing digital investigations, helping investigators fight crime, protect assets, and guard national security.
With employees based around the world, Magnet Forensics has been expanding our global presence. As a part of Magnet Forensics, you can expect to make a difference in the world, no matter what role you play. Youâll be supported through learning and development, not to mention an incredible team with unbelievable talent and integrity.
If you think you would be the right person to join our team working towards this goal, we would love to hear from you!
We are looking for an Engineering Manager to build, develop, and partner with a growing team of 5-10 ML Engineers working on AI systems that power our digital forensics capabilities. Youâll be responsible for hiring, coaching, career development, and performance; raising the bar on AI/ML craft by shaping standards, developing engineers, and building a strong community of practice across the team.
Distributed across Canada and Sweden, our MLEs work in cross-functional groups alongside Software Engineers and SDETs, and are organized around missions like Search and Enrichment rather than by technical discipline. As part of the AI Engineering leadership team, youâll work alongside peers to build cohesion across those groups, partner with Tech Leads to shape how we approach difficult technical problems, and collaborate with Product and UX to make sure the team is solving the right problems for our users.
From building AI that investigators can trust to turn months of case work into days, to figuring out what âgoodâ looks like when users are searching for a needle in a haystack theyâve never seen before, our team works on challenging and meaningful problems. If these are the kinds of problems that interest you, then you will feel at home on this team!
Drive operational excellence. Stay accountable for what the team ships, and continuously improve how we work by building frameworks for efficient, high-quality delivery. Protect team autonomy by bringing clarity and keeping decision making complexity low.
Guide technical execution. Stay close enough to the technical work to ask sharp questions, spot risks, and help the team weigh trade-offs. Partner with Tech Leads to ensure complex initiatives have the right direction, and that our systems are adaptable and aligned with long-term goals.
Coach and grow engineers on the team. Help them scope ambiguous projects, navigate tough technical trade-offs, and prepare for high-stakes conversations. Create opportunities for them to take ownership and expand their impact, and support them through clear, actionable feedback.
Foster a culture of experimentation. Create an environment where the team can safely share and test ideas, measure results, and learn quickly from each other and our data to keep pace in a rapidly evolving space.
Lead with context and collaboration. Work across Product, UX, and engineering leadership to align roadmap goals with team capacity and ensure the team is solving the right problems for our users.
Nurture a high-performing, distributed team. Evolve our processes and communication patterns to enhance our distributed collaboration while maintaining a high level of trust within the team. Leverage our time zone coverage in Canada (ET/MT) and Sweden (CET) as an advantage, not a constraint to overcome.
Drive thoughtful AI-assisted development practices. Figure out where AI development tools accelerate the team versus where they create risk, and raise our standards accordingly. Cut through the noise to determine what adds real value vs. what is only hype.
We are looking for a leader who combines genuine passion for developing people with enough AI/ML depth to coach effectively, weigh in on technical trade-offs, and raise the bar on our practices. We care more about demonstrated impact and capabilities than whether you check every box.
3+ years managing or leading teams of engineers, with a track record of building healthy teams, delivering results, and coaching people through growth (regardless of title);
Hands-on experience building applied AI/ML systems. Enough to understand what good looks like, evaluate technical judgment, and have credible conversations on technical topics with the team;
A genuine coaching mindset. You find satisfaction in other peopleâs growth, give direct and useful feedback, and have coached Senior and Staff-level engineers; people who donât need hand-holding but benefit from thoughtful partnership;
Sound technical judgment. You can navigate complex decisions, weigh trade-offs, and help teams move toward adaptable, maintainable solutions, even when the right answer isnât obvious;
Strong cross-functional instincts. You communicate clearly with engineers, PMs, UX, and leadership, and understand that your job is to make the whole system work, not just to deliver features;
Experience working effectively across distributed teams. You understand that âremoteâ and âdistributedâ are different things, and know how to build cohesion when people arenât in the same room;
Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and a perspective on how to effectively integrate them into engineering workflows and team practices;
Bachelorâs degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field; or equivalent practical experience.
Experience in high-stakes domains (security, healthcare, legal) where correctness matters;
Experience with AI/ML in constrained deployment models (on-prem, edge, air-gapped);
Experience building and operating scalable, distributed systems;
Familiarity with MLOps tooling (e.g., experiment tracking, model versioning, CI/CD for ML).
The Compensation range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. Please note that the actual compensation may vary depending on location and job-related factors such as qualifications, experience, knowledge and skills. If you are applying for this role outside of the primary location and you are selected for an interview, the Talent Acquisition Partner can share more information with you. If the compensation structure for the role includes an incentive component (i.e. most Sales roles) the range below represents total target compensation (TTC) (base salary + variable).

3+ years managing or leading teams of engineers, with a track record of building healthy teams, delivering results, and coaching people through growth (regardless of title);
Hands-on experience building applied AI/ML systems. Enough to understand what good looks like, evaluate technical judgment, and have credible conversations on technical topics with the team;
A genuine coaching mindset. You find satisfaction in other peopleâs growth, give direct and useful feedback, and have coached Senior and Staff-level engineers; people who donât need hand-holding but benefit from thoughtful partnership;
Sound technical judgment. You can navigate complex decisions, weigh trade-offs, and help teams move toward adaptable, maintainable solutions, even when the right answer isnât obvious;
Strong cross-functional instincts. You communicate clearly with engineers, PMs, UX, and leadership, and understand that your job is to make the whole system work, not just to deliver features;
Experience working effectively across distributed teams. You understand that âremoteâ and âdistributedâ are different things, and know how to build cohesion when people arenât in the same room;
Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and a perspective on how to effectively integrate them into engineering workflows and team practices;
Bachelorâs degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field; or equivalent practical experience.
Experience in high-stakes domains (security, healthcare, legal) where correctness matters;
Experience with AI/ML in constrained deployment models (on-prem, edge, air-gapped);
Experience building and operating scalable, distributed systems;
Familiarity with MLOps tooling (e.g., experiment tracking, model versioning, CI/CD for ML).

Most days, you can choose what works best for you, while staying in tune with your teamâs goals.
Weâre excited to welcome you to our team and look forward to achieving great things together - both in the office and wherever you work best!

Staff-level security engineer designs and implements security controls across product infrastructure, cloud systems, and customer-facing platforms for a regulated fintech company.
Headquarters: Remote
Valon is building the AI-native operating system for regulated finance, starting with mortgage servicing.
We're a Series C company backed by a16z, transforming industries that others have written off as too complex to innovate.
Rather than build on top of broken legacy systems, we took a different approach: we built and operate our own mortgage servicing business managing $110+ billion in loans. This wasn't the end goal, it was how we deeply understood the complexity needed to build software that actually works in regulated industries.
The results speak for themselves. We've transformed mortgage servicing from a 0% margin business into 60%+ margins while dramatically improving customer experience. Major enterprise contracts are now deploying across the industry.
ValonOS is our unified platform that makes every process structured and programmable and it is perfectly positioned for the AI era. When everything flows through one system with rich data, AI agents don't just automate tasks, they continuously improve entire operations. Mortgage servicing is just the beginning of our vision to transform regulated industries and beyond.
Security at Valon
Our customers entrust us with some of their most sensitive and personal financial information, and it is the ultimate mission of Valonâs Security team to ensure we have sound programs, processes, and automation in place to safeguard our customersâ data. The Security team protects the infrastructure and data for processing billions of dollars of mortgage loans.
In addition to protecting Valonâs internal systems, the Security team partners closely with Product and Engineering to design and deliver secure, scalable, and trustworthy capabilities for ValonOS. We engage with external security auditors, pentesting firms, and partners to continuously evaluate Valonâs security posture.
